Dementia is an umbrella term for a group of progressive neurological disorders.

There are over 400 types of dementia.

 

The larger percentage of dianoses in this group includes:

  • Alzheimers

  • Frontotemporal dementia-connections

  • Lewy Body dementia

  • Vascular dementia

  • Mixed dementia
 

 

 

Caring for a patient with dementia includes nursing the family who are often the care -givers as well, and have to cope with losing a person that they are close to.
